The elderberry syrup is made from the ripe berries of the elder and carries a deep, rich fruity taste with a distinctive aroma. It is well suited for a refreshing homemade lemonade that brings a rich dark-fruit colour and flavour to the glass.

How it is made

Buzko makes its syrups from whole, fresh Bulgarian fruit, and the elder comes from the brand's own bio-certified plantation. The fruit is processed with a gentle low-temperature technology, and the whole fruit is pureed, so pulp, seeds and fibre from the fruit remain in the syrup. No ready-made concentrates, extracts, juices or flavouring substances are added, so the taste stays close to that of the fruit itself.

How to prepare

The syrup is concentrated and is diluted with water. The reference ratio is one part syrup to eight parts water (1:8), which yields about 6.75 l of ready lemonade from the bottle. You can use still or sparkling water as you prefer and adjust the amount of syrup to taste.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. After opening, keep the bottle closed in the refrigerator and use the contents within a reasonable period.
