Lemongrass is a tropical plant with a distinctly fresh, citrus-herbal character. Bioherba's oil is obtained by steam distillation from the leaves and retains its rich aroma, which makes it a favourite ingredient for home aromatherapy and for personal cosmetic blends. Its concentrated nature requires dilution before any contact with the skin.

What it contains

The main value of the oil is its high content of citral, a combination of geranial and neral that gives the recognisable lemon scent. It also contains geranyl acetate, linalyl acetate, limonene and myrcene, typical of essential oils from this type of plant.

How to use

For aromatherapy, add a few drops to water in an aroma lamp. For external use the oil is always diluted in a carrier oil: for the face about 3-4 drops in 10 ml of carrier oil (1-1.5%), and for the body and hair 6-9 drops in carrier oil (2-3%). Do not apply it neat to the skin.
